So much family fun!

We had a few days with all of the family this summer and I can never get enough of being with my family. Everyone was home for the river trip, but some were left behind so the days we got all together were great.
 Stories with Grandpa
Almost the whole family it was raining so this was the best picture we could manage.
Too much playing with the cousins

Impossible to get a picture of Shelby and Riley both smiling.
Saying goodbye is always the worst part. There are always tears when the Texan's leave.
Another picture with almost the whole family. Can't wait til next time!

Texans come to town

My oldest brother Chris and his wife Cindi and their cute 7 year old daughter Riley live in San Antonio, TX and there is not a day that goes by that I don't miss them. They came out here this summer so that Chris and Cindi could go on the white water rafting trip with our family. Cindi and Riley flew in sooner then Chris so me and Shelby picked them up and got to have them stay with us for a couple days. We loved it. One of the days Cindi, Riley and I went up to Sundance to ride the chair lift up and go on a hike. It was a beautiful day and we had such a good time.

We had so much fun together. I am so lucky to have the family that I do. I can't wait til they come back for Christmas!

One of Shelby's many favorite hobbies

One day Shelby convinced me to go up hobble creek with him to fly fish. I don't know how to fly fish so basically I got to walk around in the water and take pictures while he fished. It was surprisingly fun. Here are some action shots of Shelby/

One with me too! Shelby tries to fly fish as much as humanly possible.

So many updates!

I have been putting off updating my Blog since July because there has been too many things and I do not have patience to take the time to do it. I decided I should update and then try to stay on top of it so that I don't get behind again and not want to update. I figure since this Blog is really mostly just a journal for me it doesn't matter. So here goes this post is about our 24th of July celebration in Cokeville, WY. The 24th of July Celebration is always one of my favorites. It is only my third year going, but it never disappoints. Uncle Tom brings a general authority and they do a family fireside friday night. Then saturday morning we get up way too early for how late we stay up talking the night before and we run a 5k. This year I was the most out of shape, but it is always fun. Then its time for the parade.
This was my favorite float this year the Zumma float and yes they were doing Zumba on the float and yes their float did say Zumma not Zumba.

The marrieds watching the parade minus James and Melinda who were at home preparing for the arrival of their sweet baby Brooklyn.
Camille was obviously worn out that is how we all feel after that fun filled weekend.
Then is time for the flag football tournament always Shelby's favorite part of the weekend.

Hanging out on the grandparents front porch.
Sunday dinner in the church parking lot.

We will be anticipating the next 24th of July but in the mean time we will be in Cokeville for Thanksgiving and can't wait!

Camping

Last Friday after Shelby got off work we went up to Logan to go camping with Shelby's cousin Camille and her husband Dave. My little sister Liz and her husband Tyson and cute little baby boy Harvey came up Friday night but didn't stay the night. We had lots of fun. Dave and Camille made us an awesome dinner Friday night. Liz and Tyson provided us with delicious s'mores. And I attempted to make breakfast burritos for breakfast. I found out quick I am not much of a camping cook. We had a nice camping spot right on the river. Shelby even got to get up early and fly fish Saturday morning. He claims he caught a fish. After camping Saturday Shelby and I went and  ate at one of our favorite Logan restaurants Papa Kelsey's. Then on the way out of town we had to go get a milkshake a Charlie's with Liz and Tyson. This summer has been so much fun already. We are looking forward to going to Cokeville this weekend for the 24th celebration.
The men getting wood for the fire
Everybody getting some delicious chicken and potatoes.
Harvey trying to feed himself. It didn't turn our very good Tyson had to eat a piece of chicken that had fallen in the dirt.
Lizzy and her cute family. I am glad they came up even just for the night.
Camille and Dave planned and did everything to make this camp trip happen.
 At our pretty camp site.

 Charlie's Ice cream our favorite
That black raspberry shake was really really ymmy
Harvey decided he should get to eat a shake by himself.
He had it all over his face, his clothes, the chair, and the floor.
He even somehow got it in his eye. I love this kid he is hilarious. I spend most of my time with him just laughing.

Heart

I had my one year heart check up last week. My doctor is in Salt Lake so Shelby went down with my and my mom was nice enough to come to it as well. They did all the tests and said it is looking good. Not all the way healed but it is on its way. Only one more year and one more check up til I am done with it all. After the appointment we went and ate at Mimi's cafe and then went shopping at the mall and my mom bought me a cute caridgan. I am so happy that my heart is healing like it is supposed to and I think Shelby and my mom were extra happy.
At mimi's cafe after my appointment
They gave me a cute pink camouflage wrap this time.
My very nice mom.

Lake Powell

The week of the fourth of July we went to Lake Powell. Shelby's family goes every year in the summer(if not twice once in the summer and once in October). I have been lucky enough to go with them the last three summers and two Octobers. I am never disappointed. We have so much fun there. We fish, wake surf, swim, go on adventures, watch movies, and of course eat way too much food. Shelby's dad has a share on a houseboat so we get the luxury of the nice air conditioned boat and a room to stay in which makes things quite nice. This year was pretty quiet since Kileigh, Hayden, and Caleb are all on missions. There were only ten of us til the end of the week. We still had so much fun and my 2 highlights of the trip were catching lots of fish and rappeling down a 150 ft. cliff into the water and the last 100 ft. was a free fall after hiking through a very scary and tiring slot canyon. Here are a bunch of pictures from our exciting week. Sorry there are so many I have a hard time only choosing a few because there are so many things we did.

Megan comes to Powell with us every year this is her wake surfing
Shelby driving the boat he couldn't get in the water for half of the week because his leg was infected. That is why he has a towel covering his leg.
Kenyon thought we would like his new Lake Powell outfit. Boy was he wrong.
The two little girls megan and Ki
Steve showing us how its done.
Kaye Lani got a foot massage since she has cancer.
 Shelby serenading us.
Meg trying to finish reading the same Harry Potter book she was reading last year at Lake Powell.
Jess giving Amy a back rub. I took this picture to show Shelby.
This is what Shelby spent the majority of his time doing.
Such pretty sunsets at Lake Powell.
This is our fun fun house boat Endless Summer.
The boys fishing on the doc at about one in the morning.
 The girls painting their nails.
Amy and Sandy at the doc watching the men fish.
Kenyon's fish that was super weird. Apparently it is the record fish or something.
Doing some swimming off the back of the house boat.
Shelby taking a nap after being out fishing til 3:30 in the morning.
My first stripper of the trip. I was really scared to hold it. I just like to catch the fish and then make Shelby get them off the hook. He made me hold this one though.
 Shelby getting his pole ready.

Weighing the fish. Strippers are fun to catch cuz they are big and fight hard.
 Meg sleeping.

My second fish I really didn't want to touch it.

Going out fishing with the boys.
 Sheb loves that hat.
Mike and Sheb ready to catch some fish.
 Me and Ken.

We went strolling and Jess drove the boat and fished at the same time. He caught five fish pretty skilled.
Megan's first time ever fishing. She caught a fish fast she is a natural. And she was not as scared to hold it as I was.
Going to an adventure.
 Like Father Like Son

 Sheb catching a walleye
Whenever we drove the boat anywhere Mike had to stand up in the front. It made me laugh really hard he looked like a puppy dog.
Mike is probably the nicest guy you will ever meet.
I got to fish with the men this year and I am sure glad cuz it was lots of fun and I love catching fish.

 Kenyon in the beautiful sunset.
Jess and Amy's grandson Cody came on friday with his parents and little sister. He is so cute.
 A thunderstorm coming in.
They finally got ice cream at the bull from doc where our boat is. Good news we don't have to go to Hall's Cross to get ice cream anymore.

 Shelby and Megan
 Everybody watching Shelby fish.

The whole fam that was in Lake Powell this year. Can't wait til Hayden and Kileigh are back.
